This British Colonial building, which stands at the end of the Galle Face Green overlooking the Indian Ocean, has been one of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious landmarks for hundreds of years. Really enjoyed this hotel as it's literally overlooking the ocean. It's character makes up for the fact it's not modern and clinical... a healthy alternative to your typical 5 star city hotel and reasonably priced too. Will go back definitely.

It's such an old & beautiful hotel filled with lots of history, would like to stay in the new wing the next time as the old wing could do with a face lift and airing out especially the rooms, as the carpets and rooms are very musky. Its historical value is beyond comparison.
